THE EXPERIENCE
Morning of the tour
Embark on our favourite day tour from Hobart to Hastings Cave and Tahune Airwalk in Tasmania's Far South. Leaving Hobart, we quickly descend into the beautiful Huon Valley as we embark on our two hour journey. We drive through the beautiful winding roads of the Deep South as we stretch our legs at the wooden boat building town of Franklin before we head to our first destination, Hastings Caves.
After a quick walk through a spectacular cool temperature rainforest, we head underground with a specialist guides. They will expertly guide you through the largest dolomite cave open to visitors in Australia. Above all, you will learn about the spectacular stalactites, columns, shawls and stalagmites. Although underground, the cave is spacious with no narrow passages. However, there are 250 stairs with handrails leading you in and out of Hastings Cave.
Following our visit to Hastings Caves, we explore more of the Huon Valley as we wind through the countryside toward Tahune Airwalk.

We had a fabulous day with our guide jack last week , the highlight was the swim in the thermal pool, we were on a cruise , a similar tour from the ship was literally about 200% more $ , and we would have been packed into large coaches, we were in a small bus and were able to ask questions, everyone was really accomodating from the booking process , I rang the office and booked over the phone, to jack making sure I got a swim in. We would definitely recommend tours around Tasmania. Xx
Response from Tours around Tasmania
Thankyou Lynn and Bob we always appreciate any feedback to improve our tour, but such positive reviews certainly give us a welcome boost! We love providing amazing experiences and hearing you enjoyed it just as much is very satisfying.
A great tour. Our guide Gerard was extremely knowledgeable and looked after us perfectly. Probably one of the best tour guides we have ever had. It was a really good day
Jack was our fabulous guide for the day & he was a wealth of knowledge & a great sense of humour to boot!
Jack told us snippets of interesting facts as we passed throughout the small towns along the way, making it a memorable tour.
He highlighted many interesting local spots & interacted with all of us- including our 10yr old daughter. It was a magnificent day, exploring a part of Tasmania we had not been to before. The van was clean & comfortable & Jacks driving was superb on the windy country roads! We will definitely using your great service again to explore other parts of Tassie!
Response from Tours around Tasmania
Thank you for your lovely feedback! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your day out with Tours around Tasmania. We will be sure to pass your kind words on to Jack.
Both the tour & its organisation are worth commenting on. I was caught up in COVID test delays & George could not have been more accommodating, including rearranging things the evening before the tour when the test finally came through. On the day, Gerard was a true guide, not just a driver. He brings lived experience, tactful explanations of history, personal recommendations & does everything to make sure that you don’t just get delivered to a place, but told how to get the most out of it. He was good company on the drive and made it an experience, not just a tour.
I am writing to thank your company and especially Jack for a fabulous trip. My friends and I went to the caves, thermal pools and air walk yesterday and we had a great day. Jack was very professional and knowledgable. He allowed us to stop and buy fruit and let my son play in the playground. My son left his hat on the bus and Jack returned it to our motel.
Fantastic trip! Jack was wonderful in finding stops for pictures and telling us about the history of the various towns we passed through. The cave was amazing and the air walk terrifying but fun. We all had a great day out.
